Job description

As a Data Scientist at PriceShape, you will play an essential role in analyzing, modeling, and deriving insights from data that drives our platform's core functionalities. You will focus on building predictive models, analyzing trends, and optimizing e-commerce-related processes using structured data.

Your day-to-day work will be together with an international team, working closely with your Team Lead, our CTO, Head of Engineering and our full-stack developers. Our department consists of colleagues from various parts of the world and English is the primary language for communication.

Your key responsibilities consist of the following:

• Supporting the development and deployment of machine learning and deep learning models, contributing to the process from ideation to implementation under the guidance of the team lead.
• Assisting in advanced time series analyses for e-commerce data, such as sales forecasting and inventory management.
• Writing and optimizing complex SQL queries to extract, manipulate, and analyze data.
• Collaborating with software developers to implement data-driven solutions into the platform.
• Conducting exploratory data analysis and presenting insights to the team lead and relevant stakeholders. 

We expect you to bring the following:

Your hands-on skills and data curiosity are what matter most. We're looking for someone who is self-sufficient, eager to learn, and most importantly someone who is passionate about data science within the e-commerce space.

Must-Have Skills

• Strong experience with Python and relevant libraries (e.g., Pandas, Numpy, Scikit learn, TensorFlow…).
• Proficiency in SQL, with the ability to write complex queries involving joins, subqueries, and aggregations.
• A solid understanding of machine learning algorithms (supervised and unsupervised learning) and their practical applications in sales data.
• Practical experience in time series analysis for solving business problems like sales forecasting and inventory management.
• Experience deploying and maintaining machine learning models in a production environment using AWS services.
• Strong understanding of feature engineering techniques.
• Experience with software engineering best practices such as version control and testing. 

Good-to-Have Skills

• Familiarity with working on sales and customer data in e-commerce.
• Ability to quickly understand e-commerce-specific datasets and use them effectively
• Basic knowledge of deep learning, particularly LSTMs (Long Short-Term Memory networks).
